Time Commanders returns to the BBC tonight at 9pm GMT

Time Commanders, the classical war simulation game show based on the Total War video game series will be returning to the BBC tonight at 9pm GMT on BBC 4.

This series was originally aired on BBC 2 between 2003 and 2005 with 24 episodes over two series', with season three starting later tonight with an episode based on the Battle of Zuma.  This was a battle between the Roman Empire and Carthaginian Empire which decided the fate of the Second Punic War in the early 2nd century.

Time Commanders returns for a third season tonight on BBC 4 at 9PM in the UK.
This is the TV show where teams will try to better the deeds of the greatest commanders from history.

In this new series, hosted by Total War enthusiast Gregg Wallace, two teams will go head to head in an  epic battle

One of the biggest changes to the series' traditional formula, is that now two teams will battle against one another.  Each team will have an initial skirmish battle against an AI opponent and then a single grand battle where each team will fight against one another using opposing factions.

Time Commanders Season 3 will start in the UK on BBC Four at 9pm GMT and will be available on BBC iPlayer afterwards if you like in the UK.

I'll take 3 episodes or none any day. I guess its a pilot attempt to see if they get viewings to make it worth making a season from it.Quote
