Titanfall 2 is available to play for free this weekend on Steam

Titanfall 2 was mostly overlooked at launch, releasing in the same late 2016 timeframe as Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. This competition lead to poor sales at launch, despite favourable reviews, and EA added Titanfall 2 to their Play subscription service in July 2017.

Although EA published both Titanfall 2 and Battlefield 1, the publisher decided not to alter Titanfall 2’s release date to a better timeframe, leading to the game’s poor launch timing and poor visibility at launch.

Titanfall 2 is an excellent game and contains one of the best FPS campaigns of the last console generation. This weekend the game is available for free on Steam, giving PC gamers a chance to blitz the game’s campaign before the game’s free-to-play status ends on May 3rd at 6 PM BST.

Apex Legends is set within the Titanfall universe, and Apex Legend’s “Season 9: Legacy” update features a lot of Titanfall content. This revelation has made a lot of gamers interested in the 2016 FPS.

The recent Steam release of Titanfall 2 has also seen interest in the game soar amongst PC gamers, so much so that the game has become one of Steam’s most-played games in recent weeks. At the time of writing, Titanfall 2 has more players than Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Steam.

If you haven’t already, now is your chance to play Titanfall 2’s campaign. If you enjoy FPS games and sci-fi, you will not be disappointed. Play it now on PC through Steam
