Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands will use Nvidia TurfFX

Ubisoft has released a new GameWorks trailer for Ghost Recon Wildlands, showcasing the game’s use of TurfFX, HBAO and Volumetric Lighting, as well as full Ansel integration for taking ultra-high-res 360 screenshots and more.

This makes Ghost Recon Wildlands the first game to make use of Nvidia’s TurfFX technology, which is a simulation technique which Nvidia has designed to provide more accurate grass and foliage simulations with advanced shadows and the ability to interact with other in-game objects.

With this new graphical technique, Ghost Recon Wildlands will have what is likely the most realistic grass simulation seen in games, though it remains to be seen if this effect will come with a substantial performance hit

Ghost Recon Wildlands is no doubt a beautiful game, though this comes with a huge demand for PC performance, especially at higher graphical settings.
