Governments around the world have been telling their citizens to stay at home, and the strategy gaming gurus over at Creative Assembly are ready to give you an excuse to knuckle down and enjoy some hardcore historical strategy. They want you to become Shogun. 
Right now, Total War: Shogun 2 is available for free on Steam, allowing PC gamers to take over Feudal Japan and become the next Shogun. This offer will be available until May 1st, and during this time, Creative Assembly will also start the Steam Total War sale, where selected historical Total War titles will be available at discounted prices. 

Alongside Total War: Shogun 2’s free game promotion, the game’s DLC collection will also be available with a 75% discount. Beyond that, the DLC collection’s price will be reduced further for existing owners of some of the game’s DLC, ensuring that existing fans of the game will receive the same value as newcomers to the game. 

Starting today, PC gamers will be able to redeem free copies of Total War: Shogun II on Steam. Total War: Shogun 2 is playable on Windows, Linux and macOS.
