Ubisoft has delayed both Far Cry 5 and The Crew 2

Ubisoft has announced delays of two of their biggest releases for early 2018, adding an extra month of development time to Far Cry 5 and pushing back The Crew 2 until the first half of the next Fiscal year.

Far Cry 5 is now set to release on March 27th, 2018, giving Ubisoft Montreal the ability to make additional improvements to the game. These changes should allow Far Cry 5 to meet the ambitious vision of the game's developers.

The Crew 2 will be delayed by a longer length of time, with Ubisoft's next Fiscal year starting in April. Ubisoft has set no clear release date for The Crew 2, hinting that larger changes will be required before it releases next year. Below is Ubisoft full statement on these two game delays.

Far Cry 5 will now launch on March 27 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox One X and PC while The Crew 2 will now launch in the first half of our next fiscal year on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox One X, and PC.

For Far Cry 5, the extra time will allow the team at Ubisoft Montreal to make some additional improvements that will bring the best, most ambitious Far Cry experience in line with the team’s original vision. We’re excited for fans to join the Resistance in Hope County, Montana against the Project at Eden’s Gate cult. Tune in to the Ubiblog tomorrow, December 8th at 10pm PST to get the newest look at Far Cry 5.

Meanwhile, The Crew 2 development team at Ivory Tower will use the next several months to perform additional playtests, gather player feedback, and continue working towards delivering an ambitious open-world racing experience that meets the team’s and our players’ expectations.

They saw what happened to EA and are now thinking maybe we should remove some Microtransactions... That's gonna take time. I could see The Crew 2 having a bigger problem with this and hence a bigger delay.Quote

Microtransactions I have no real beef with as long it's cosmetic but I bet it's down to this, they probably had in MT's that were -

"pay 500 race tokens and you get boost for an extra 10 seconds"Quote

I dont mind if they were pay 2 win. As long as when I pay for something, I know im getting what I pay for, not a "random chance of 50 items listed that could be contained within"Quote
