Ubisoft releases a new Co-op trailer for Far Cry 5

Ubisoft has released a new trailer for Far Cry 5, which reveals that the whole game will be available to play in Co-op, aside from the game's tutorial. Co-op players will play the game inside the host's game, with all experience and inventory items (excluding quest items) carrying over to the next co-op session.

Only the host player will see story progress in Far Cry 5's campaign, though co-op can be used to free roam and do activities in the game outside of its campaign, like fishing or flying.

Co-op will only be available in Far Cry 5 online, with the game lacking two-player split-screen support. Co-op will only be supported with up to two players, so do not expect GTA V-style multiplayer madness.

Far Cry comes to America in the latest instalment of the award-winning franchise.

Welcome to Hope County, Montana, land of the free and the brave but also home to a fanatical doomsday cult known as Eden’s Gate. Stand up to cult leader Joseph Seed, and his siblings, the Heralds, to spark the fires of resistance and liberate the besieged community.

Far Cry 5 will release on PC, Xbox One and PS4 on February 27th, 2018. On PC this title is said to offer support for features like AMD's "Rapid Packed Math", which also means that the game will launch with support for either DirectX 12 or Vulkan.

Honestly I'm amazed the devs listened to the community on this one, A lot of people, Me included, Were asking for the ability to have full co-op in 3 and 4 and not just 1 or 2 little missions, I get the idea behind the host only being able to progress in the main story, May pick this up if the reviews are good.Quote

I kinda get WHY only the host can progress through the main story but that is only because the story is linear and not open-progress of do whatever you want when you want (like forza horizon 3).

If the campaign was a open-progress system, again like horizon 3, then progress would complete for both players no matter what quest they did together it would be completed when they both go back to their respective singleplayer worlds. But sadly that isn't the case...nor could far cry ever "really" do a open-progress main story system without a serious overall of what everyone who plays far cry likes...the campaign lol.Quote
