United Front Games has officially closed its doors

United Front Games, the developers of Sleeping Dogs and more recently Smash+Grab, has now officially closed its doors. While no announcement has been made by the studio, we have confirmation from several employees that the Canadian Studio is closing down.

Today Smash+Grab, a Steam Early Access title, was removed from the Steam storefront, as development on the title will not continue.  Those who have already purchased the title will be able to play it in its current state, though the game will never be finished.

United Front Games has officially closed its doors

It is always a shame to see a game developer close its doors, especially one who's games have been a popular part of our GPU testing lineup for several years. We hope that all of the employees of United Front Games are able to quickly find new work at another development house.

Such a shame, I love Sleeping Dogs, it was really refreshing to see a new setting like Tokyo in an open world game, it is a shame that every single open world title released now is always compared to GTA and pretty much has no chance.Quote

I may get executed for this, but I don't see the appeal of GTA, to me it seems same old same old with better graphicsQuote
