Rumour has it that Valve plans to reveal a new Half-Life game at this year's The Game Awards, which is due to take place on December 12th. This will come shortly after the anniversary of the original Half-Life, on November 19th, taking the series into the world of VR.

This new Half-Life game is reportedly called Half-Life Alyx, presumable following the story of Alyx Vance, one of the protagonists of Half-Life 2 and its Episodes. The game will reportedly be exclusive to VR headsets, having stemmed from Valve's experimentation with SteamVR.

Half-Life: Alyx is due to release in "March 2020" according to recent leaks, though at this time these leaks have not been confirmed. Valve has stated that they have a "flagship VR game" in the works, and Half-Life could undoubtedly be classified as Valve's "flagship" game series.

This new game reportedly starts at the end of Half-Life 2, acting as a VR continuation of the series. This could make now the perfect time to replay the Half-Life series.
