Windows 10 Runs Faster than OS X on New Macbook

There is a lot of things to love and hate about the newest Macbook, it has a great slim/ lightweight design but is greatly limited because it only has one port.

Macs have been regarded as some of the best Windows PC, ironically, as those who decide to dual boot or Only run Windows on their Macs have no bloatware added to their systems at stock.

Alex King, a computer science student at Tufts University has been running his new Macbook with Wondows 10, saying that his Boot Camped Windows 10 installation ran much smoother than OS 10.

"It's fast. It's smooth. It renders at 60FPS unless you have a lot going on. It's unequivocally better than performance on OS X, further leading me to believe that Apple really needs to overhaul how animations are done. Even when I turn Transparency off in OS X, Mission Control isn't completely smooth. Here, even after some Aero Glass transparency has been added in, everything is smooth. It's remarkable, and it makes me believe in the 12-inch MacBook more than ever before."

Ale King also praised Microsoft's new Edge browser, saying that it was fast to load pages and was able to handle a large number of tasks well.

Using Intel's Core M processor in the Macbook, Alex was even able to play Left for Dead 2 at 60FPS at a resolution of 1280x800 and was even able to emulate games like Super Smash Bros. Melee at 60FPS.

A very important thing to take away from this is how well Windows 10 ran on this "low end system" it means that the Windows experience will be greatly improved for the majority of it's users and create a budget PC segment which could perhaps help compete with Android or iOS tablets or convertibles.

It's a MacBook AIR

Windows let AIR get inside your house, USA national parks don't.

That's just nuts especially as Thelosouvlakia said, Windows 10 is still in the pre-release phase.Quote

So it just responds quicker to tasks as opposed to giving a performance boost? Not really the most scientific evaluation ever now, is it?

However, it kinda makes sense seeing how bad OSX has been getting recently. Especially post Yosemite. Apple have been getting a bit lazy IMO. As this guy mentioned, the animations are terribly optimized. It is very much Apple's Vista. They put too much crap in it and seem to have completely forgotten that they sell low power devices.

Then again, if you're not an idiot and don't rice the hell out of Windows 8.1, it can be fast and efficient too. Much like how OSX used to be.

A macbook air is not low end if you ask me, I'd not call a PCIE SSD slow and low end. Lightweight does not equal low end.

Finally, W10 is probably slower than most versions of Linux still Quote

As long as there are Apple fanboys stuck in 2009 and still think that mac OS is faster, more optimised than anything with the name "windows" on it Apple will be still making TONNES of money. [Apple is so rich that they litteraly can buy Greece's whole debt and still have money left to bring "new" products in the market"Quote
