Windows 10 will have a 32-bit version?

It looks like Microsoft will be offering a 32-bit version of their Windows 10 operating system to tempt long-standing users of Windows into upgrading when Windows 10 launches later this year.

In a conversation on Twitter the head of the Windows Insider program has this to say when asked about the popularity of 32-bit Window systems, saying that last month over 70 million 32-bit systems talked to Windows update.

He also said that 92.8% of systems with a BIOS age of under one year are now 64-bit.

Windows 10 will have a 32-bit version?

While Microsoft are intending to convince users of Microsoft's older OS' to upgrade to Windows 10, especially on the business side where many users prefer Windows 7 to Windows 8/8.1.

What do you guys think of Microsoft's commitment to 32-Bit? Do you think 32-bit OS' should go the way of the dodo?

It's a bit like the option to order a steak well done: the option kinda needs to be there, but it irks meQuote

Pretty pointless. I can understand a Windows 10 start that is 32 bit only or something purely for netbooks. But other than that they really should not make a 32 bit version. One of the things I actually agree with apple on is killing off 32 bit. Is it even possible to buy any computer with less than 4GB of RAM anymore?Quote

Looks like MS is just finding ways of making more money, there really is no need for a 32bit and 64bit versions anymore.Quote

That, good sir, is the best choice of words to describe something I've seen in quite a while. Quote
