Massive Entertainment created World in Conflict, the same company that was behind Tom Clancey's The Division. In the game's campaign, players will take the role of US Army officer who takes command of both US and NATO forces when combating Russian invaders.

In the game's expansion, Soviet Assult, players are tasked with controlling Russian forces during their invasion of Europe and participate in the Union's surprise invasion of the US.
