EK releases several new colour options for their M.2 SSD heatsinks

While RGB illumination remains popular, it is undeniable that definitive rig colour schemes have their place. Yes, RGB provides users with a lot of options, but they fail to deliver the sharp contrast or impact as real coloured components. Some of us want a PC colour scheme to remain even when the power is off, which is the exact market that EK wants to address with their new range of coloured M.2 SSD heatsinks.

Alongside EK's standard Black and Nickel plated options, the company has now released red, green, blue and purple colour options, with a gold coloured variant coming within the next two weeks. These heatsinks will be compatible with all single-sided 2280 M.2 NVMe SSDs (22mm wide and 80mm long).

In their testing, EK found that these heatsinks can lower the operating temperature of NVMe SSDs by 7-30 degrees depending on the loads that the SSD was under. This reduction in temperature is hugely beneficial for extreme use cases, where your SSD will be fully loaded for extended periods.
