Intel's 600P series of M.2 SSDs are now available to purchase in the UK

 

Intel has announced their 600P series of M.2 SSDs for the mainstream market, offering capacities of up to 1TB and speeds which greatly exceed that of traditional SATA SSDs. 

These new SSDs are now available to purchase here in the UK in capacities of 128GB, 256GB and 512GB, with 1TB version available for Preorder. 

Below is a table comparing the relative specifications of each drive, with each drive increasing in speed as its capacity increases.

The price for the 1TB model is terrible when you look at the specs and then compare it to the 1TB Samsung which does a hell of a lot more read/writes for the exact same price of £349.99 -

Intel 1TB

- Read Speed: 1800MB/s
- Write Speed: 560MB/s

Samsung 1TB

- Read Speed: 3000MB/s

Its another green pcb though. Would look so out of place is most rigs today. Once Black 1TB PCB m.2 drives are available I will jump at it.Quote

On boards like the Sabertooth or Formula you install it behind a little panel so the colour isn't an issue as you will never see it Quote
