Japanese Company Fixstars make 10 and 13TB SSDs
Â
Japanese Company Fixstars have just released 6TB, 10TB and 13TB SSDs, which are SATA 3.0 and are made with 15nm MLC NAND.Â
These SSDs use a controller which have been designed by Fixstar themselves and offer read and write speeds of 580 and 520MB/s respectively, meaning that the performance of this SSD is more or less at the limits of what is possible on the SATA interface.Â
Â
Â
Fixstar say that these SSDs are designed for storage, streaing, CG and visual FX editing and 4-8K video processing, all of which require a large amount of storage and high read/write speeds.Â
The company say that their devices will become available for Pro-order later today and will be shipped to consumers in the US and Japan in Min-Late February. Â
 Â
Â
With such large capacities it is very difficult to see this SSD become available outside the professional and enterprise markets, but it is nonetheless good to see such large capacity SSDs become available.Â
