Kingston expands its NV3 series into the compact M.2 2230 SSD form factor
Kingston has officially embraced the M.2 2230 SSD form factor
Kingston Digital has expanded its NV3 range of PCIe 4.0 SSDs with new M.2 2230 models, giving storage upgrade options to users of laptops and handheld gaming systems. These new models complement Kingston’s M.2 2280 NV3 series SSDs, acting as a power-efficient storage option for PC builders and PC upgraders.
Kingston’s new NV3 M.2 2230 SSDs will be available in 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB forms. Unlike the M.2 2280 version, the M.2 2230 version will not have a 4TB storage option. This is due to the size constraints of the M.2 2230 form factor.
Kingston’s NV3 SSDs utilise a PCIe 4.0 x4 controller and can deliver sequential read and write speeds of up to 6,000MB/s and 5,000MB/s, respectively. Note that these maximum speeds are only available for the 2TB version of this SSD. The 1TB and 500GB versions of this drive are slower, as noted below.
