Mushkin launches their Pilot series of M.2 NVMe SSDs

Mushkin has officially launched their new Pilot series of M.2 NVMe SSDs, the company’s fastest range of Solid State drives to date to date. This new lineup of M.2 NVMe 1.3 SSDs combines 3D TLC NAND and Silicon Motion’s new SM2262 controller to deliver high-end performance. 

Like most high-performance SSDs, Muchkin’s higher-end offerings provide users with increased performance when compared to their low capacity counterparts, with Mushkin’s 250GB Pilot offering an almost 2x performance boost over the drive’s 120GB counterpart. Further increases in sequential read/write performance is also available when moving up to capacities of 500GB or higher. 

The only real issue that some PC builders will have with Mushkin’s offering is its use of a green PCB, though this could be covered by a motherboard’s M.2 heatsink on most systems, eliminating this factor as an issue.   

These M.2 SSDs will ship with capacities of 120GB, 250GB, 500GB and 1TB, with specifications for each drive being available in the table below. These specifications come directly from Mushkin’s website.
