Plextor showcases their new M8Se NVMe SSD
NVMe SSDs are now starting to become more common, promising enhanced memory speeds and reduced CPU overhead when compared to their SATA counterparts.
The main problems with NVMe SSDs today is that they are tremendously expensive when compared to their SATA counterparts, not only due to their high performance but also due to their lack of market penetration by companies other than Samsung or Intel.
Now Plextor has announced their new M8Se series of SSDs, which will come in both M.2 and half-height PCIe variants and offer sequential read/write speeds of 2,450MB/s and 1000MB/s respectively, using TLC NAND to offer a great balance between performance and affordable pricing.
This new series of SSDs will be available in 128GB-1TB capacities, all of which feature 2GB of DDR3 SDRAM cache.
Right now Plextor has not announced the pricing of this new SSD but has revealed that all of the series will include three-year warranties and will release in June 2017.
