Plextor M6e PCIE M.2 SSD Review

AIDA64 & Crystal Disk Mark

Plextor PCIE/M2 SSD

AIDA64

AIDA64 contains an entire fleet of tests for measuring performance of different parts of the system. We ran a few of the hard disk/SSD benchmarks on our M2 SSD in both the PCIE adaptor card, and the M2 port on our motherboard.

Crystal Disk Mark

CDM has always been one of the favourites in measuring SSD performance. It's a quick and simple test to run, and gives easy comparison figures for speed.

In both of these tests, we see our first glimpse of what M2 drives are capable of, and we have to say we are impressed. At almost 200MB/s faster than the fastest SSDs we've tested, we see scores of around 750MB/s on read, and almost 600MB/s on write.

I would love one of those in my rig, but for time being, out of my price range for a short while unfortunately.

I comepletely agree about the PCB being black, with todays market, most boards being black or blue, they should really of make it black.Quote

I think this is an awesome product, but I aree that it looks really horrible. Not only that green PCB, but also that big, white sticker when you put it in the M.2 slot on your motherboard.Quote

Its a shame they don't make them like ram. A hyper X beast one in white would moisten me greatly .Quote
