PNY launch their CS1311b series of SSDs
PNY Technologies has announced their new CS1311b series of SSDs, offering a lightweight design (35 grams) and capacities of 128GB and 256GB.
While these SSDs are small, they are very well suited for a wide range of applications, especially for portable systems that require a fast, yet affordable boot drive. Not everyone needs and NVMe SSD and pretty much all PC users can benefit from upgrading their HDD based systems, leaving a market for something that is affordable and simple.
When compared to HDDs, Solid State Drives (SSDs) are silent, lightweight, offers low power consumption and provides users with greater levels of storage performance. PNY’s new CS1311b drives will offer read speeds of 510MB/s and 560MB/s and write speeds of 410MB/s and 510MB/s for the 128GB and 256GB versions of this drive respectively.
Both of these drives come with a three-year warranty and a mean time between failure (MTBF) of 2 million hours. Atr this time we have no official pricing for these drives, though they are designed to be cheap and basic.
