GRAUGEAR's high-performance PS5 heatsink pushed SSD cooling to new heights
GRAUGEAR's latest PlayStation 5 SSD heatsink has pushed PlayStation 5 M.2 SSD cooling to the next level, enabling higher levels of heat dissipation by adding a secondary heatsink that grabs airflow from the console's main fan.
GRAUGEAR's M.2 heatsink design is like most aftermarket M.2 heatsinks, sandwiching an M.2 SSD between an aluminium heatsink and steel bracket with thermal pads in-between. What makes GRAUGEAR's design different is its addition of a long copper heat-pipe, which connects to a secondary heatsink that sits far away from the PlayStation 5's M.2 slot. This allows M.2 SSDs to benefit from the PS5's intended M.2 SSD cooling design, and from a secondary M.2 heatsink that is connected to your SSD though a copper heat pipe.
With GRAUGEAR's secondary heatsink grabbing airflow from the PlayStation 5's main fan, GRAUGEAR's PlayStation 5 M.2 heatsink actively cools your SSD, keeping it cool under all loads. If anything, this M.2 heatsink should be overkill for M.2 SSD cooling, with GRAUGEAR claiming that their heatsink can cool your PlayStation 5's SSD by between 15 and 25 degrees when under load.
