ZOTAC Announces the SONIX 480GB PCIe NVMe SSD

ZOTAC have announced their new SONIX 480GB PCIe NVMe SSD, which offers read an write speed of 2600MBps and 1300MBps respectively.

This SSD is powered by a Phison E7 controller and uses Toshiba MLC flash with a 512MB DDR3 Cache, allowing this SSD to offer super fast read and write speeds with a mean time between failures of 2 million hours of operation.

Prepare for the silent silver bullet - the ZOTAC SONIX PCI-e SSD. In a world where every second counts, you cannot afford to lag behind. Maximize your speed, minimize load times and make the hourglass a distant memory. With the PCI-e interface, the set up is a very simple plug and play*, so say goodbye to cable management. Your ultimate upgrade requires no wires and no mess - just a sleek dose of metal, silicon, and blazing speed.

One other noteworthy thing is that this SSD has very low power consumption figures, idling at 0.5w and having power consumption of 5.57W and 7.27W during heavy read and write loads respectively, meaning that this device offers amazing speeds at almost negligible levels of power consumption.

This SSD will be made available in only 480GB variant, and Zotac have yet to reveal the pricing of this SSD.

Same again this should have been a Black PCB when are these companies going to learn start making theses products with a Black PCB if you want gamers to buy them, I for one will not be buying a product like this until i start seeing these come out with Black PCB's.Quote

The blue is better than green but yeah Black is better. I imagine it's going to cost a fortune as well.

TBH Blue is still bad tho.

I really would like to know how much extra would it really cost companies to make it with a black PCB.Quote

My next build case, like the current, will have solid panels all around.

All that matters are the speed and quality of the components. The color would need to be Octarine for me to care. It does not give me any FPS or any other benefits.

I look at my monitor when I use my PC. Not at the PC itself. So the monitor is the only place I would spend extra for appearance.

TBH i'm surprised so many people care. I get the 'neatness' thing - for reasons such as airflow and easy maintenance. But people going for worse / more expensive components because of PCB color ? Quote
