Acer lists a notebook with a “Coffee Lake” CPU

 
Intel’s upcoming Coffee Lake architecture is designed to deliver more CPU cores to end users, not only in standard desktop platforms but also to mobile users. 
 
Acer’s upcoming Swift 3 notebook has been listed with an 8th Generation i5 U-series CPU (i5-8250U), delivering a total of four CPU cores, a first for an Intel U-series mobile CPU. This CPU is designed to operate at a low TDP and come with a base clock speed of 1.6GHz, boost clock speeds of 3.4GHz and 6MB of L3 cache.

The listing of this product seems to indicate that Coffee Lake will be releasing soon, at least on mobile platforms, so it might be a good idea on holding off that notebook purchase until you see what Intel has to offer with Coffee Lake.   

Right now it seems likely that Intel will release Coffee Lake on mobile platforms in August, allowing them to take advantage of the additional purchases in from the “Back to School” market.
