ASUS launches its ROG Flow Z13 2025 with AMD Ryzen AI MAX
ASUS’ new AMD-powered ROG Flow Z13 gaming convertible is now available to purchase
Starting today, ASUS’ new AMD Ryzen AI Max-powered ROG Flow Z13 is available to pre-order. This new PC gaming convertible uses AMD’s most powerful APU to date, bringing together up to sixteen Zen 5 CPU cores and Radeon 8060S integrated graphics to deliver a compelling portable gaming experience to users.
This new portable system takes integrated graphics to the next level, offering users 40 RDNA 3.5 compute units. Furthermore, it has plenty of AI umph with its integrated 50 TOPS NPU. Tying the system together is a unified quad-channel memory subsystem, giving users plenty of memory bandwidth with up to 128GB of LPDDR5X memory.
While CPU core counts, memory capacity, and other aspects will vary on a per-configuration basis, the ROG Flow Z13 delivers tonnes of performance relative to its size and weight. All models will ship with a 13.4-inch 2560 x 1600 ROG Nebula IPS display, support USB4, and have a 70Wh battery.
The ROG Flow Z13 benefits massively from AMD’s Ryzen AI Max chips
ASUS has been able to fit a crazy amount of hardware into its newest gaming tablet. Typically, a PC with this level of gaming performance requires a discrete graphics card. AMD invested heavily in the integrated graphics of its Ryzen AI Max series CPUs. As such, AMD has delivered a single package that provides up to 16 CPU cores, a 50 TOPS NPU, and a 40 CU RDNA 3.5 GPU.
This single-package solution allows ASUS to greatly simplify their ROG Flow Z13’s design. After all, only one chip needs to be cooled and powered now. Despite this, this gaming convertible can still rival systems with discrete laptop GPUs. Furthermore, its combined memory pool ensures that this system’s GPU has plenty of memory to utilise. Remember, this PC has up to 128GB of combined system memory.
The launch of Ryzen AI Max is a turning point for AMD. With a powerful unified solution for AI, CPU performance, and graphics, Ryzen AI Max is a rival to Apple’s M-series Apple Silicon chips. The gaming performance of this APU’s integrated graphics should also concern Nvidia.
Today, we have found ASUS’ new ROG Flow 13 available to Pre-order on the ASUS webstore and through John Lewis.
