ASUS pushes AI flexibility with their new Vivobook Flip series
The Copilot+ Convertable – ASUS introduces new Vivobook Flip PCs at IFA
ASUS has been flexing its notebook muscles at IFA 2024, revealing a wide range of new devices powered by Intel’s latest Core Ultra Series 2 (Lunar Lake) CPUs. The most versatile of these new AI PC options is the Vivobook Flip, which can be used in distinct Laptop, Tablet, Stand, and Tent modes.
The new Vivobook Flip series will be available in 14-inch and 16-inch versions, both featuring OLED displays. Both models can be configured with up to an Intel Ultra 7 (Series 2) CPU. This processor features 47 TOPS of NPU performance and powerful Xe2 ARC graphics.
The Vivobook 14/16 uses 70Wh and 75Wh, respectively, with the Vivobook 14 boasting a battery life of up to 25 hours. That’s a massive boost over prior-generation Intel laptops.
Boosted performance with Ultra Series 2 Lunar Lake CPUs
When compared to ASUS’ last-generation Vivobook Flip laptops, their new 2024 Core Ultra 7 model was shown to be 40% faster than its predecessor in CPU workloads (Geekbench). Regarding graphics processing performance, their new Vivibook Flip was 82% faster. Add on their new model’s extended battery life, and it is clear that ASUS has given their new generation of Flip devices a HUGE upgrade.
Vivobook Flip Connectivity
Their new Vivobook Flip range has many connectivity options. It has Thunderbolt 4, USB Type-A, HDMI 2.1, and an audio jack. Additionally, a microSD card reader is built in. ASUS’ Pen 2.0 is also supported.
These systems can be configured with up to 32GB of LPDDR5X DRAM and 1TB of PCIe 4.0 SSD storage. The 16-inch model also boasts an 88% screen to bezel ratio. Both the 14-inch and 16-inch models have OLED displays. However, the 14-inch model has a 1080p 60Hz OLED screen, while the 16-inch model can have up to a 3K 120Hz OLED screen.
Both of ASUS’ new Flip laptop models support Wi-Fi 7. While Wi-Fi 7 isn’t common in the home or workplace, users can rest assured that these Vivobooks are ready. Finally, ASUS enabled fast charging on both notebook sizes to enable 60% charging in 49 minutes.
Both of these new Vivobook models will be available to purchase within the next month.
