ASUS teases their “ROG NUC 2025” – A next-gen gaming NUC

ASUS will reveal their next-generation ROG NUC at CES 2025

ASUS has started to release their CES 2025 teasers, confirming that the company will be revealing their next-generation ROG NUC at the event. In the Tweet below, ASUS ROG has given gamers a glimpse of their next gaming NUC. Furthermore, this teaser confirms that the NUC will be available with an Intel Core Ultra 9 series processor.

We have reviewed ASUS’ 1st generation ROG NUC. This NUC featured an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H CPU and an Nvidia RTX 4070 Laptop GPU. For their next-generation “ROG NUC 2025,” we expect ASUS to use an Intel Core Ultra 200 series processor and Nvidia RTX 50 series graphics. As such, we expect to see improved CPU and GPU performance from ASUS’ compact gaming system.

Based on ASUS’ teaser, the new NUC features a new stand design and has a similar form factor to its predecessor. Currently, it is unknown if this new NUC will support faster DDR5 memory than its predecessor, or feature support for PCIe 5.0 storage solutions.

ASUS’ ROG NUC series focuses on packing as much gaming performance as possible into a tiny PC form factor. This will be true for this new 2025 NUC. However, it remains to be seen how much performance this new 2025 NUC will feature. Ultimately, this depends on how much Intel and Nvidia have improved the performance/efficiency of their mobile CPUs and GPUs. Will this next-gen gaming NUC deliver a large generational leap in performance? We will learn more at CES.
