Dell release a collection of AMD Raven Ridge powered Laptops
All of these systems will come with a 17-inch 1080p display with a DVD drive, fingerprint reader, two tuned audio speakers a “spill-resistant” keyboard and a 42WHr 3-cell battery. The price of these systems will be between $679.99 and $899.99 for the company’s pre-built units, none of which include an SSD (which is strange for a mid-high-end notebook offering). The Premium $999.99 option will offer users a year of Dell’s Premium Support Plus service. Â
The oddities of Dell’s lineup don’t end there, with the company offering no Ryzen 7 Mobile option, leaving Dell’s offerings without AMD’s flagship Ryzen mobile APU. The $729.99 Inspiron 17 5000 also comes with an unusual 12GB (8GB 4GB) DRAM configuration, which is far from an ideal configuration.Â

It seems that for now Dell is not interested in going all-in with their Ryzen Mobile system designs, which will undoubtedly leave many consumers looking elsewhere for Ryzen mobile offerings with space for either an M.2 SSD at stock. Right now Dell doesn’t even tell consumers whether or not these units even have space for an M.2 storage drive, making them unappealing to those who want to upgrade the units themselves.
These new notebooks are now available o purchase in the US (Link Here), at this time the UK pricing of these systems is not available.Â
