Hands-on with ASUS’ new Vivobook S 14 at IFA 2024
Meet the new ASUS Vivobook S 14
We got hands-on with ASUS’ new Vivobook S 14 at IFA 2024, and it is an impressive little machine. Using Intel’s new Ultra Series 2 (Lunar Lake) CPUs and a 75Wh battery, this system boasts a battery life of up to 27 hours. Furthermore, it features a great-looking 3K 120Hz OLED display, WIFI 7, and a Harman Kardon-certified Dolby Atmos audio system.
This new Vivobook uses an Intel Lunar Lake processor, making it a Microsoft Copilot+ compatible PC with up to 47 TOPS of NPU AI performance. It can also feature up to 32GB of LPDDR5X memory and 1TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe storage out of the box.
The new Vivobook S 14 weighs 1.3 kg and is 1.39cm thick. This laptop is incredibly portable and packs a punch with Intel’s new Lunar Lake processor, Xe2 ARC graphics, and NPU.
We will also note that this new Vivobook has a solid keyboard. We were disappointed by some of the keyboards notebook makers used at IFA 2024, but ASUS has left us impressed with its offerings. Thank goodness!
The new Vivobook S 14’s keyboard is a single-zone RGB keyboard. This allows users to adjust the lighting to suit their colour preferences. Note that this keyboard features a dedicated Copilot key.
Connectivity-wise, the Vivobook S 14 has two Thunderbolt 4 ports (which support display and power delivery), two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1, and a 3.5mm audio jack. A microSD card reader has also been integrated into this notebook.
ASUS’ new Intel Lunar Lake-powered Vivobooks will be available to purchase next month.
