HKEPC has gotten hold of one of Intel’s new i7 8700K CPUs and they are not afraid to show it off, releasing pictures of their CPU on Facebook.

The site has also decided to delid their CPU and take some pictures of the CPU’s Coffee Lake CPU die, revealing that it is much larger than Intel’s last-generation i7 7700K. This is expected given Kaby Lake’s lower max core count, which undoubtedly would save a lot of die space for Intel.

Given Coffee Lake’s use of Intel’s LGA 1151 socket, it is expected that existing LGA 1151 delidding tools will work on Coffee Lake, which means that delidding your CPU should be pretty easy when using existing tools.
