IFIXIT, a popular provider of electronics repair guides, has given Microsoft’s Surface Laptop a 0/10 for repairability, stating that the device is “not a laptop” but “a glue filled monstrosity”. 
 
Worse still is the fact that even the companies experts were unable to open the device without inflicting a lot of damage on the system. The company also calls the battery “dangerous” to replace and that the device’s CPU, memory and onboard storage are all non-replaceable. 

This makes the Surface Laptop one of the most difficult to repair electronic device from a major manufacturer, with this being the first time a device has been given a 0/10 for repairability.

While this notebook does boast some impressive specifications for its size, it isn’t a device that users can be expected to fix by themselves. Those who purchase this device should buy the longest warranty they can should they ever need a repair or replacement device.
