MSI Vortex – An Intel i7 and GTX 980 SLI in a Trashcan?

 

Is it a Trashcan? Is it a Mac Pro? No, this is MSI’s new Vortex Mini PC, an ultra powerful gaming PC in an ultra small form factor with a volume of a mere 6.5L. 

While the design of this unit is clearly inspired by the Apple Mac Pro, it is certainly something that is intended for a different audience, replacing the Mac’s 8-core Xeon with an Skylake i7 and it’s dual Radeon D500 workstation GPUs with dual GTX 980 GPUs.

This is a PC designed for gamers, gamers who love silence and gamers who love great performance, with both GPUs running at full desktop GTX 980 speeds and performance.  

 

 

MSI will be releasing this product sometime this year, though we are pretty sure that this will be i the first half of 2016 as otherwise it would need to have it’s internal GTX 980 GPUs with their Pascal equivalents.
