MSIâs Ultra-slim X340 Notebook Hits Retail
Â

Â
Notebooks are becoming slimmer and sexier by the day and more people look at them as fashion icons than just functional aids. With its simple yet elegant and modern design, MSIâs X-Slim notebook series manages to achieve this beautifully. And these notebooks have much more than just external beauty; they also feature advanced multimedia and power-saving technologies on the inside.
Â
MSI has given the latest Intel Core2 Solo ULV processor and the Intel GS45 + ICH9M-SFF chipset to the top-of-the-line X340. With 2GB of RAM, the svelte notebook has enough memory power to meet all requirements.
Â
MSIâs ECO Engine power management system allows users of the X340 to choose from five different modes â office, gaming, movies, presentation and turbo battery. The modes are optimised to deliver maximum battery performance across all types of usages. MSI has made provisions for additional battery life by embedding the notebook with LED power-saver backlight. In addition to saving power, the LED also improves colour richness and brightness.
Â
Featuring a 13in TFT LCD screen instead of the usual 12in ones, the X340 is programmed for 16:9 wide screen viewing. The wider visual area also makes reading texts and videos much more comfortable. Equipped with twin speakers, a 1.3-megapixel webcam, and a DVD Super Multi optical disc drive, the X340 has all the right multimedia equipment in place.
Â
Despite being ultra-slim, the X340 makes no concessions on connectivity; options include two USB ports, one HDMI, one MIC-in, Headphone Out, D-Sub (VGA), an RJ-45 LAN port and a card reader. Wireless connectivity options include Bluetooth and 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi.
Â
Initially launched only in Japan, the X340 ultra-slim notebook is expected to hit other shores in the next few months. Retail pricing details however, are not currently available.
