Raspberry Pi 3 Released
Raspberry Pi 3 Released
Â
The Raspberry Pi 3 has been released, offering on-board Wireless, Bluetooth and 50% more processing power and the same great price of $35 (around £27 in the UK).Â
The new Raspberry Pi 3 will  use a Quad core 64-bit Broadcom BCM2837 ARMv8 processor, which will run at 1.2GHz. This is a pretty nice upgrade from the Raspberry Pi 2 which only ran at a mere 900MHz.
Â
Today weâre launching Raspberry Pi 3: itâs still $35 and itâs still the size of your credit card, but now it comes with on-board wireless LAN and Bluetooth, 50 percent more processing power, and a Quad Core 64bit processor. The new Raspberry Pi opens up even more possibilities for IoT and embedded projects; we hope you like it as much as we do.
 Â
Â
The board also features an improved power system, which is capable of handling 2.5 amps, allowing the board to power more complex USB devices without the need for a more complex power system.Â
Below are the full specifications of the Raspberry Pi 3:
Â
- CPU: Quad-core 64-bit ARM Cortex A53 clocked at 1.2 GHz
- GPU: 400MHz VideoCore IV multimedia
- Memory: 1GB LPDDR2-900 SDRAM (i.e. 900MHz)
