The Samsung Galaxy Note7 will support HDR and the Vulkan API as well as some significant hardware upgrades when compared to its predecessors. 

First of all the Galaxy Note7 will feature a larger battery than Samsung's last note phone, upgrading from a 3000mAh battery to a 3500mAh battery, allowing this phone to last longer under heavy use. Hardware wise the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will also have 31% more CPU power and 58% more GPU power when compared to the last Note phone as well as a total of 4GB of system memory, making this mobile

With Vulkan compatibility and such huge boosts in GPU performance with modern SoCs, mobile phones now have the gaming power to play some fairly demanding titles, though developers will still need to work on the problems that mobile controls present to gamers.

Wow. Not wow at the tablet, that's meh but wow that it can run Vulkan. This is fantastic news, as it means that far more games will get Vulkan support given the cash waiting in the mobile market for decent games.

It's also impressive on Android itself. The fact it's supporting HDR(on a phone) before most TVs is pretty good for Google. Not that phones really need it..

On the other hand it does make sense. Since many Smart TVs use Android OSQuote
