The makers of smart phones often make some dumb decisions, making their flagship mobile phones which the latest and greatest CPUs, Screens and cameras, always forgetting that their users want a phone that can last for more than a few hours under load, or more than a day of minimal use.

With mobile SoCs becoming more and more power efficient we always wonder why newer phones do not have longer battery lives, as manufacturers use any saved power to reduce the battery size and capacity in order to produce a phone which is thinner and lighter, often giving newer phones the same batter lives or less than that of their previous generation counterparts.

Until we have a major battery breakthrough that allows us to have small batteries with larger capacities the only way to extend out phones battery life is to equip it with a larger battery, which is something that the mobile phone maker Oukitel has decided to do. Meet the Oukitel K10000, the mobile phone with a 10,000 mAh battery that can last for up to 15 days of minimal use.

This phone may not have specifications that will best an iPhone 6S or a Samsung Galaxy S6, but it's battery has a high enough capacity to charge these phones up to 3 times.

With such a large battery this phone has been made to be able to charge other devices, allowing you to charge your friends depleted phone while knowing that your phone can still have several days worth of battery to spare.

Many of today's phones use a 3,000 mAh battery, which is typical use can last up to 1.5 days, so the 10,000mAh battery of the K10000 should last at least 5 days or normal use.

What do you think of the Oukitel K10000's design? Would you prefer a larger battery over a sleek design? You can join the discussion on the Oukitel K10000, the phone that can last for up to 15 days, on the OC3D Forums

Deffo, it is really annoying if I ever travel and forget my charger. It is the exact reason I bought myself a battery pack for my brother for christmas.

My opinion on the stock size of phone batteries.
