BFG Enters Mobile Gaming Market Page: 1
Deimos X10 18.4" Notebook
BFG Deimos X10 Gaming NotebookEarlier this year, BFG began to focus on something other than video cards, a complete system, dubbed 'Phobos', which was a high end liquid cooled computer for the gamer with deep pockets. They left out the mobile market though, there was no option for gamers on the move, who need power and mobility. This is where the Deimos X-10 stepped in, it's an 18.4-inch widescreen SLI notebook offering that is directly targeted at gamers.
Inside the 'mobile' machine is a choice of an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad or Core 2 Extreme processor, up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM and the option for up to 1.5TB of storage thanks to three 2.5" drives in a RAID configuration. Also squeezed in is a pair of GTX280M in SLI, enough power to 'pwn' your average desktop. All of this grunt drives the massive 18.4" widescreen LCD display, with a HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
You can also find all of the usual features you'd expect from a high end desktop, never mind laptop, such as a 2megapixel webcam, fingerprint scanner, wireless b/g, bluetooth, ethernet, HDMI and DVI out, S/PDIF, four USB 2.0 ports, eSATA, Firewire and a 5 speaker audio system, with a built in sub woofer.
BFG Deimos X10 Gaming NotebookIt's a very nice, feature packed laptop, similar to the other high end gaming laptops, but with BFG's high end twist added in. The prices start at $2299 for the entry level model, working up to $3699 for the mid range and $4499 for the high end model, hardly cheap, but quality never is. To sweeten the deal, BFG say that if you order before the 30th of October then they will knock an additional 10% off the regular price, which is a nice gesture.
