CyberLink PowerDirector to Support NVIDIA CUDA
It seems like many companies are now seeing the potential of NVIDIA' CUDA technology: Adobe has released a GPU-accelerated version of its Creative Suite, and NVIDIA has struck a strategic partnership with MotionDSP to use CUDA in its digital video software applications. Now it seems that CyberLink have realised the potential of NVIDIA CUDA technology, and announced its collaboration with NVIDIA to optimise the performance of its video editing software CyberLink PowerDirector.
CUDA technology is a programming environment based on the industry-standard C-language that enables developers to dramatically speed up applications by harnessing the massively parallel architecture of the GPU. According to the press release:
CyberLink PowerDirector is delivering much faster video rendering performance and improved user experience in processing HD videos with advanced video effects such as Gaussian radial blur, pen ink, and others.
The enormous power of the GPU is finally coming into its own.
