Official Press Release

LG Electronics, a global leader in consumer electronics and mobile communications, has today announced that its chic and stylish monitor, the Jar (L1900J), will be available to consumers to buy in the UK from February 2007. The Jar is developed for fashion conscious consumers who desire both breathtaking design and the latest viewing technology. The Jar is from LG's revolutionary Fantasy series of monitors, which also comprises the Ring (L1900R) and the Eclipse (L1900E).

“Technology is rapidly moving away from being purely functional to being a statement of style and class,” said Louise Walsh, product manager, LG Electronics. “There’s currently a big emphasis on creating stylish living spaces and we feel the Jar is perfect for those who want to add a touch of luxury to their home or workplace.”

The Jar's uniquely designed base emits a soft red light and carries the sleek glossy ‘noble black' screen that houses the latest screen technology, providing:

* Ultra high contrast ratio of 2000:1, giving crisper images against darker backgrounds
* Lightning fast response time of 4ms, making the monitor ideal for watching sports, computer games and movies
* Sharper and cleaner images delivered by its video signal input connector (DVI-I)
* High resolution (1280 x 1024), superior brightness (300cd/m2) and wide viewing angle (H: 170°, V:170°) developed to provide the best viewing experience possible

The Jar is the second model from LG's design led Fantasy series to be launched in the UK, following the Ring (L1900R) which debuted in November. The Fantasy Series' superior design has already been professionally recognised and awarded the iF Product Design Award 2006, a highly coveted European design scheme.
