Nvidia's GT220 Cards Coming Soon Page: 1
GT220 On The Horizon
Gigabyte's GT220 OC Graphics CardNvidia's latest graphics card, the GT220 is based on the 40nm GT216-300 GPU, their first GPU to support DirectX 10.1. It will officially be launched in less than three weeks time. Details are scarce at the moment, despite the GPU being available to OEMs for several weeks, this is the first sign of a retail unit. The reason we have seen little is possibly due to the product being in the shadow of the high end GT300 series of GPUs that are due later this year.
Gigabyte's custom cooled model is overclocked out of the box, with core speeds of 720Mhz, 1GB of GDDR3 memory clocked at 1600Mhz on a 128-bit memory interface. It also has 48 stream processor and a shader clock of 1568Mhz. This doesn't represent the other Nvidia partner's products, as this is an OC model, so standard clocks will be less, but performance quite similar. The GT 220 OC features a dual slot cooler with an 80mm fan, DVI, VGA and HDMI outputs onboard.
There is no official word on pricing yet, although it should be sub £100 if early rumours are to be believed. Discuss in our Forums.
