ASUS ROG Fusion II 500 Headset Review

Depending upon how old you are or how long you've been invested in video games as a way of life, you might be aware that there used to be quite a to do regarding which side of a divide you sat on. Once it was whether you liked SEGA or Nintendo, Amiga or Atari ST, Playstation or XBOX, every generation has seen a console war. Thankfully as the two main consoles have both turned in to PCs in a box with a custom OS that has diminished greatly, but the hoary old cliche about dumbed down console gamers and the PC Gaming Master Race persists. Most of us have both. Most of us appreciate that some titles are better with modding and mouse controls, whilst others are most enjoyable when sat on the sofa in front of a huge TV.

The latest ASUS headset, the ROG Fusion II 500 is aimed squarely at those of us who understand there isn't a place in the PC vs console debate for "better", just different. To that end their newest offering has a 3.5mm jack, a USB Type-C plug and a Type-A adaptor, allowing it to work on PC, Mac, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Nintendo Switch and mobile devices! Everything but the XBOX apparently.

With 7.1 surround, AURA lighting, Quad DAC and Discord certified noise cancelling microphone it certainly has a lot of technology stuffed into its pleasing design. So let's take a look at it before we take a listen.
