ASUS TUF H3 Wireless Gaming Headset Review
Introduction
Headsets are so prevalent in these times of streaming and huge numbers for multiplayer titles that it is no surprise there is an option to suit almost any need and pocket. This time last year we reviewed the ASUS TUF H3 headset and found it to be a very capable performer in its price bracket.
Naturally having a wired headset is all well and good, but the primary problem with every wired headset on the planet is that the cable enters on the left hand ear piece. It doesnât take a genius to realise that as all cases are designed with the window on the left, our systems sit on our right hand side. Thus, cabled headsets have the cable draped across our chest like weâve just been awarded the title of âMiss Iowa Cornfields 2021â and got a very poor sash.
What you need is wireless, and with the ASUS TUF H3 Wireless headset we get all the abilities of the regular H3, but none of the cable faff. Letâs check it out.
Technical Specifications
The regular H3 came in a variety of colours, but the H3 Wireless only comes in gun metal grey. Given that your headset is on ears you can’t see, we’re less fussed than we might be with such limitations on keyboards or mice. Plus if you’re going to limit a headset to any particular colour then a neutral shade is the way to go. Elsewhere the specifications of the TUF H3 Wireless are very familiar with the 50mm Neodymium drivers sporting the popular 20Hz-20kHz response. The use of a Type-C wireless receiver enables it to be connected to a huge variety of audio sources. The specifications page for the TUF H3 Wireless lists it as supporting Mac, but the main product page emphasises it isn’t, so we’re assuming the main page is the accurate one.
