Corsair Void RGB Elite Wireless Review

Corsair Void RGB Elite Wireless Review

Introduction

The Corsair Void Pro Wireless was an excellent premium headset which had great wireless range, the ability to play and charge, as well as RGB lighting and the all-important sound quality. The slight drawback was the unique design hadn’t quite been tuned properly and so placed undue pressure on certain points on your head, and how quickly other premium headsets overtook it in terms of sound quality.

Never one to be resting upon their laurels, Corsair have returned to the fray with an update to both their wired and wireless Void headsets, now called the Elite. We’ve already looked at the wired version and found the changes to be wholly beneficial. Given that the Void Wireless Elite is built upon an identical chassis with the addition of Corsair’s wireless slipstream technology then our hopes are high for this model. Particularly given the Void Elite Wireless is a sub £100 wireless headset which has neodymium drivers with an improved frequency response normally found in headsets that push the two hundred pound mark.

Have the improvements we saw from the wired model carried over into the wireless? Let’s find out.

Technical Specifications

The specifications for the Void Elite are largely the same as the original Void Pro, but there are a couple of notable changes. Firstly the frequency response, the ability of the headset to play a broad spectrum of sounds, is improved up to 20Hz-30kHz. Secondly the microphone was unidirectional previously but now is omnidirectional. Best of all Corsair have kept the same price as the original released two years ago. What inflation?
