Up Close:  Radiator and Contact Plate

It surprised us somewhat to find that the Radiator on the T12 differs significantly from the others in the series.  Both the S24 and S36 have 30mm thick radiators which have soft rounded edges with the Fractal logo picked out in the upper corner of either end.  The T12 Radiator however has a thicker 46mm radiator with what appears to be a second more angular cowling wrapped over the top of whatever lies beneath.  This wrap over cowling also has a gloss strip on it, to which is centrally added the Fractal logo.

The wrap round nature of the cowling is better seen on the images below.  We have to say, we're not a big fan of the styling here as much as we were of the other two units in the range.  We might be wrong, but it smacks to us very much of simply clamping a cover up cowling onto an AIO radiator, but that aside, the styling just doesn't share the simple aesthetic we've come to expect from Fractal.

Having seen a VW Golf with " I wish my wife was this dirty" written on the back, when looking at the contortions you can bend the 90 degree G1/4" compressions on the contact plate/pump assembly into, we can't help but think " I wish my Wife was this Flexible".

The business side of the Contact plate is a large copper block held in place by just four countersunk screws.  The contact plate isn't polished smooth, but instead appears to be a very shiny semi textured surface.

Mullet
TTL - can you add the 4.6Ghz graph into the performance section of the review.

There's a reference to this chart in the review but the chart isn't shown.

Cheers!Quote
