Conclusion – I’m in love with the Noctua NV-FS1

As I write this review, it is 27.8 degrees Celsius in my office. That’s uncomfortably hot. Without the airflow of Noctua’s NV-FS1 desk fan set, it’s hard to get a lot of work done. If its too hot, it is all too easy to lose focus and concentration. After all, it’s not just your PC that can thermal throttle.

What we have here is an effective solution to a real problem. While the product seem expensive on the surface, all products in Noctua’s Home range are well built. Beyond that, the impact that a desk fan like this can have on personal comfort should not be underestimated. PC enthusiasts can spend a lot of money and effort on ensuring strong system cooling. Why isn’t personal cooling this well considered?

Noctua’s HOME product line is not a gimmick, or a half-arsed attempt to grab some case from the company’s fanbase. What we have here is a valuable luxury, and one that I wouldn’t want to work/game through the summer without. Above all, Noctua’s NV-FS1 desk fan is an excellent personal cooling solution. Without doubt, I can say that it has helped increase my productivity on hot days.

Ultimately, the Noctua HOME range isn’t just the NV-FS1 desk fan. Yes, it is the obvious highlight of the product range. Even so, it is just part of what Noctua are offing with their new HOME product line.

Need some airflow in or around your networking closet, home entertainment system, or other electronics? This is where Noctua’s HOME series can come into its own. With power supplied, fan hubs, controllers, and anti-vibration pads/gaskets, DIY customers can build an airflow solution to suit their needs. Noctua has successfully expanded the utility of their fans outside of the traditional PC market, and we look forward to seeing what’s next for Noctua HOME.

The most notable thing about Noctua’s HOME cooling ecosystem is that nobody else does anything like this. Yes, you can DIY a lot of random parts together to create a similar effect, but Noctua has an ecosystem or well built parts that users can trust. For that, Noctua’s NV-FS1 desk fan and HOME ecosystem deserve OC3D’s Innovation Award.
