AMD Ryzen 7 3700X and Ryzen 9 3900X Review

Temperatures and Power Draw

The 3rd Generation of Ryzen processors really show the benefits of the 7nm process. The stock cooler supplied is more able to handle the lower core count of the Ryzen 7 3700X, The 3700x can be overclocked on the stock cooler on the loud 'high' setting but its really not able to cope with the heat from an overclocked 3900x at all. This really isnt a negative fact for a tiny cooler trying to keep 12 rampaging overclocking cores in check though.
One curiosity though is the extra power being drawn when you overclock on the X570 platform, despite the processor actually running cooler. Hmm.

Sick. The 3900x performance metrics are mind boggling.

Seriously, that's an irresponsible amount of multi core performance.

Rock on. Thanks for the hard work guys. I know what my next CPU is going to be Quote

Fantastic performance and it's brilliant to see the 3900X is literally nipping at the heels of the 9900K in gaming, I don't need 16 cores of the 3950X coming in September but the 12 core model is calling my name and I'm doubly happy as the performance difference is negligible between X470/570, Ace review Tom, Appreciate the hard work !

Yeah for sure I think the star of the show is the 3900x. Not to do disservice to the rest but man, what a beast. Over 7000cb. Wow. J.Ju....Just mad.Quote

Thanks so much for all the effort. It's been great going through all the reviews.

I think I might skip X570 and just get an X470 motherboard.Quote
