AMD Ryzen 2nd Generation Threadripper 2950X and 2990WX Review

Temperatures

We don't think it is going to be much of a surprise to discover that running such a pair of monster CPUs on air cooling will lead to reasonably temperatures, nor that overclocking them will generate more heat than keeping them at stock. Still though we think that the refined 2nd Generation Threadrippers do an excellent job in keeping things under control. There are no OC Air results as the chips just couldn't be kept under control on air. AIO a must.
