ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Formula Preview

ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Formula Preview

Introduction

Normally when there is a new range of Intel motherboards on the market we take a look at the ASUS Prime. Partly because it’s a great baseline model with solid performance at an attractive price point, and partly because it’s white.

With the 12th Generation of Intel CPUs on the horizon and their attendant Z690 motherboards coming up we were all set for that and then we opened the box and discovered that ASUS have launched a new white motherboard, but this time in the form of the ROG Maximus Formula. We know, we were as surprised as you. Those of you who prefer your cases to be the other side of a Zebras markings instead of the black one have been crying out for a high end motherboard in this palest of hues, and your requests have been answered. Perhaps the most surprising factor in all of this is that we are unaware of a potential black model Formula upcoming.

As always with a preview we’ll cover all that the 12th Gen is bringing to the table in our full reviews on the 4th of November, so for now we’re going to take a closer look at the motherboards we have on hand in the hopes of whetting your appetite and giving you plenty of time to smile sweetly at your partner. Grab your favourite beverage and settle in for an overview of the newest addition to the famous Maximus range. Ready?

Up Close – Packaging

As regular readers will know there are limits of what we can tell you before the official launch. It always leaves us in a difficult position as we want to share all the news and give you a taste of what is forthcoming, but we don’t want a bunch of lawyers appearing on our doorstep. We think showing you the box is an elegant solutions because who can stop you magnifying the back of the box and testing your eyesight? Not us. We’re not your Daddy*.
