ASUS Z170 Maximus VIII Hero Review

PC Mark

PC Mark is a great all round testing benchmark to give us an idea on real world performance. The Hero gets a noticeable boost in PC Mark 8 which is the newest version of the 3, with the biggest leap coming in the accelerated run. PC Mark 7 saw a drop on computation and creativity although we have no idea why, the overclock was stable and produced better scores in every other benchmark. The Gaming and Memory performance from the Maximus VIII Hero in PC Mark Vantage more than makes up for this unexpected PC Mark 8 result though.

Due to the shorter-than-we'd-like amount of time between receiving the Skylake CPUs and today's release, we did not have time to explore the PC Mark 8 issue further, but it will be something we will dedicate some time to once we make the big switch to Windows 10.
