ASUS X99-Pro Review

Introduction

Its common place for us to review the most expensive boards in the Asus range like the Rampage Extreme we set an incredibly high benchmark for all following board to try and beat, with driver and BIOS updates they quite often do too. Something we have noticed recently with our testing of boards from different brands is just how effective the Asus OC socket seems to be at running crazy settings with low volts that other manufacturers seem to struggle with. So with this in mind we asked Asus for their midrange X99 Pro which is actually the cheapest of their 'white' boards to see if this could live up to the standards of the X99 Deluxe or even the Rampage 5 Extreme.

Technical Specifications

The X99 Pro reads like a what's what of current hardware. In fact the only thing we can see that's missing is the extremely new USB 3.1. Aside from that though there is a full array of features. SATA Express, plenty of USB 3.0, some very high DDR4 OC potential. That is aided by the inclusion of the ASUS OC socket which, as we've seen before, provides excellent low-voltage overclocking. We'll see how well that performs on page three.
