Power Draw

As you can see below, AMD’s Eco modes can deliver massive power consumption drops in all-core workloads like OCCT. These levels of load power were measured directly from our power supply, which is why a 65W decrease in CPU TDP can result in a 100W reduction in from the PSU power.

Lowered power draws allow your system to remain cool and quiet under all workloads, allowing lower-end (or lower profile) CPU coolers to effectively cool your Ryzen 9 processor, or simply allow you to run your system with quieter fan profiles and no chance of overheating.

Below we can see how CPU thermals are impacted by AMD’s Eco modes. Both AMD’s 105W and 65W Eco modes can deliver huge drops in CPU thermals, which is great news for everyone who doesn’t want to invest in an expensive liquid cooling setup.  Even modest heatsinks will work at 65W.
