Up Close - Packaging and Accessories

As befits a motherboard called the Dark the EVGA X570 flagship comes in a monochrome, monolithic box. We half expect Also Sprach Zarathrusta to start playing.

When you have a premium product like the Dark it's always fun to open the box and see the profusion of packages awaiting your interest. The Dark delivers in every regard with plenty of accessories as well as a nice box to open too. You can also see the level of protection afforded to the motherboard itself with the internal packaging.

There are many different designs of wireless antennae on the market and we have to say that we're very keen on the EVGA solution. Twin aerials in one package rather than separate is much easier to place in a suitable location.

What's that? You want standoffs that aren't 5mm long and will give you plenty of room to tidy away your cables behind the motherboard? EVGA have got your back. Or, at least, with the EVGA X570 Dark your back is covered. But in the real world if you look below these are for the rather cool bench table PCB.

When you've got such a premium product in your case then it's always good to show it off and the case badge will allow you to wear your EVGA innards with pride. As most of us these days are running without an optical drive the move towards USB driver packages is one with which we can wholly get on board.

If you want an easy way to work out where your standoffs should be, or just the layout of the Dark itself, without interferring with your prized purchase then this gives you a lovely overview of the whole arrangement and also doubles up as a rather cool benchtable.

Ssssshhhh, he summoned Cthulhu!

If the layout paper is big enough, then that's actually really helpful! These layouts should be present for all motherboards, imho. Put them online so everyone can have an EASY look beforehand.Quote
